Về
mùa đông, khi mưa dầm gió bấc, phong cảnh nhà quê thật tiêu điều buồn bã. Ngoài
đồng nước giá lạnh nên thỉnh thoảng mới thấy lác đác có người cày hay bừa. Ai
cũng cặm cụi làm việc, không chuyện trò vui vẻ như trời ấm áp.

In
winter, when there is continuous rain and north wind, the rural scene looks sad
and deserted. In the field, the water is chilly, therefore sporadically, people
are seen ploughing and harrowing. Everybody is absorbed in their work and does
not talk cheerfully as when the weather is warm.

làng đường vắng tanh, buồn lên đến mắt cá, xung quanh mình không có một tiếng
động, chỉ nghe thấy tiếng giớ thổi vù vù vào bụi tre. Những giọt nước rơi xuống
lách tách.

In
the village, the roads are unfrequented and the mud is ankle-deep, there is no
sound around, we can only hear the wind howling through the clumps of bamboo.
Drops of water are pattering on the ground.
